My name is Chanchal Kaur, a law graduate, advocate for the charity Destiny Rescue, and a multicultural youth ambassador. I am deeply passionate about preventing violence against women and creating a more just and equitable world through education, legislation, and advocacy. As an advocate for Destiny Rescue, a charity dedicated to rescuing young girls from human trafficking and sexual exploitation, I organised an online charity raffle that raised $705 for the cause. I also participated in the Women’s “No Means No” March to lobby for consent education and am currently developing a social platform to educate individuals on accessing resources for abuse, assault, and discrimination. My work reflects my commitment to ending violence against women, a global issue that demands urgent attention. Beyond women’s rights, I represented Australia at the Global and Social Innovation Challenge in 2018, where I presented an innovative app idea to address one of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. I aspire to bring this concept to life to assist people worldwide. Locally, I am actively involved in community initiatives, including the Refugee Law Project, where I assisted individuals with safe haven visas by identifying jurisdictional errors. I have also supported witnesses and victims of crime at local courts by explaining legal processes and providing access to counsellors and safe spaces. Additionally, I participate in national events such as Clean Up Australia Day, the Mother’s Day Classic, and City2Surf, demonstrating my commitment to community well-being. Through my social media platform, I encourage youth to engage in mindful activities like journaling and spending time outdoors, promoting mental health and positivity. Volunteering with Universal Youth Alliance aligns with my mission to empower youth, advocate for social justice, and foster global peace. I am excited to bring my passion, advocacy skills, and innovative mindset to support initiatives that inspire and uplift communities worldwide.
